A New Blanket in the Block...

I have spent quite some time thinking about starting a new blanket. My SIL is having a pretty important Birthday this year... She is turning 50... she is a wonderful person, giving and generous and I think she is more than worth it the amount of work I'll have to put into making a blanket for her. I have just shown you the blanket I made for her daughter's wedding this last summer (look at my wedding blanket post -sorry I'm not able to put a link from blogger today) and she absolutely loved it.

She loves pink, she loves colors and most of all she loves flowers ...

So I decided to go with a very colorful, Japanese flower blanket and put a pink border when it is all done.

I don't really have a pattern other than I know I'll probably make 130 flowers , I am using 13 colors and a size 5mm J crochet hook. I'm using LionBrand Wool-Ease and I'm very happy with the result. The blanket looks beautiful and it will be easier for her to wash when she needs to.

I have to make at least one flower a day and sometimes that is a very hard goal to accomplish, but I am confident I can get it done by the end of April for her special birthday.

If you need any more details you can always ask me, i'm not following a pattern , but this "make as I go" kind of plan is different .. it is very liberating (although kind of stressful for me sometimes - I don't always follow a pattern, but I like to write my own pattern and plan before I start a blanket and this is a whole new thing)

Here are a few pictures for you to see my progress ... and I can't wait to show you the big reveal in April.

I want to thank you for visiting me today ... I hope you enjoy your visit here as much as enjoy reading all of your comments.

Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday :)

Take a look at Our House

Hi there Dear Friends

I have been wanting to give you an update on our house and what is going on with our lives...
Last year we decided to sale our house and embark in a huge adventure of building our dream house (with limitations of course).
One of our objectives was to make our home more inviting and more SIMPLE. Yes, no formal anything... no formal living room, dining room and a very open concept.
One of our dreams was to have a beautiful view so we started with that...

We live in the beautiful NW in Happy Valley, Oregon and Mt Hood is one of the state's icon...we do love it and thought that would be a dream to see it every day...
so we think we got very lucky when we found this lot with this view ...

And then our adventure began...
We sold our house ... moved to a very small apartment ... and began building our dream ...

We were here about a month ago ...

And we are here now ...

As I'm writing this post and look at the pictures it does not seem as if we have made to much progress yet, but when we went there this last weekend they had drawn all the rooms in the floors already and we felt almost like we were inside a real house...
It was so exciting ...  I felt giggly and my heart was sooooooo HAPPY.

I'm humbled everyday by what God has giving to us... I'm grateful everyday for the life I have and I'm reminded every day how lucky and blessed I'm for the blessings that shower on me and my family every single day.

We are now starting to make some choices of color, styles and its very exciting... I'll keep you posted as we go forward and will update you on our story and adventures as our dream becomes a reality.

Before I go just want to give you a sneak pick at my shawl I'm working on today...
Grey is usually not my to go color, but I'm loving this shawl ... cant wait to finish it so I can wear it:)
(I'll give you all the details when I finish it )

Thanks for being here with me today and thank you to all the new followers who are now also joining me ...
Your company make my day :)

Have a wonderful week !

I think my blog is working again ....

I don't know what happened... I suspect the problem was that I started posting with blogsy ( I new app I was trying). I thought I had solved my problem of being able to post text and pictures at the same time... I don't have a computer at this time - although we do have 4 computers in our house they are always busy with my husband working and my kids school. So I had decided I was going to find an app and do my post on my ipad... Guess what ?.. I don't think it worked and I believe it was because that app does not make the pictures at a size that is supported by the blog and since the file was too big to handle it messed up the configuration of my blog.

Well, I think I'll try to go back to either post with blogger and you will see all my pictures in the end of my post and whenever I get a chance at the computer I'll try for better posts.

In the mean time ... Thanks for hanging in there until I can fix the technical difficulties...

Here are a couple of pictures of my latest project...

A blanket for my SIL ( due in the end of April for her birthday) ... More details soon...

I'm Thankful

I have been thinking about it, but really have not had the time to stop, catch up and tell you all how thankful I'm for everything I have and all the great moments I had with my husband, my kids, my family and my friends during the Holidays.

I know most everyone is done talking about the holidays ... It all seems like it happened so long ago. But I didn't have time to express my gratitude...

For all the gifts received ...

Our simple and humble Christmas Tree this year ..

And all the friends who took the time to visit and spend time together...I'm eternally grateful and thankfull. Your friendship means so much to me and even though I don't have any pictures to share ( computer glitch - long story) I wanted to express how important you are in my life.

What I can share is ...

My husband looooooved the sleepers ( remember it ? )

And all the gifts got finished and giving to their rightfull owner :

This year I made soooo many scarves and cowls I even forgot to take pictures, But I have to say that it was fun ... and I think I was a good girl because Santa did not forget me either ...

And off we go with another year... 2014....

Both my kids already had birthday ...

My daughter is now a beautiful 17 years old... And I made these crochet collars for her ...

I found the pattern for the cream one on Ravelry it's called " Crochet Collar Pattern" by Lulu Loves and the grey one is my own pattern inspired by hers. I love them and I plan to make many, many more ....

And my son is now 16 ... I never pictured myself as a mother of 2 teenagers and I'm so happy God has giving me this great opportunity ... I feel double blessed and I'm grateful everyday.
Before I leave you today I will give you a sneak pick at my newest project and will tell you all about it on my next visit here ...

I'm grateful for your visits here, for your friendship, your kind words and support ... They make my day :)

Till next time ... Lots of xxx n oooo :)
