Making Buntings for Yarndale

Hi there Friends...

I was reading Lucy's blog this weekend and she was asking everyone interested to make buntings to send to her for the Yarndale festival in England.

I always wanted to make some buntings and I think that is all I needed for inspiration...
You know how we crafty people are ... the thought of having something I made  all the way... across the globe ... in England just got me all excited...
I couldn't contain myself.

I hurried upstairs to my craft room... got a whole basket of colorful yarn and got right to work on it...

Now, even though I did have a long weekend I only read about it yesterday so I haven't had much time to work on them.  I only worked on these 2 and I'm not done yet... I still have to trim the red one... but I am sure having lots, I mean lots of fun ...

I'm going to make a few more and when I am done I'll show you all of them before I send them of...

and then... on the day of the Yarndale Festival if you are there and look up to see all the buntings ...one of mine will be sitting there and greeting you, sending smiles and wishing you have lots, lots of fun that day

:)

For more information or if you also want to make and send buntings for Yarndale visit Lucy at Attic24 and I'm sure you will have as much fun as I am having making mine.

As always thanks for stopping by to see me and have a fabulous week :)

Reduce, Reuse...UPcycle...and I Have a New Bag :)

Hi there friends...

I have had a crazy busy week...but again I think all my days are somewhat crazy busy...being a Mom of 2 teenagers with a full time job makes for very long days.
But now I have a 5 day weekend as I took today and Friday off and Monday is a holiday for me... so I got a few minutes to say Hello!!!

This last week I was looking at the bag I carry my WIP blankets and I thought it looked so sad...almost ready to be recycled...

I never really liked the handle and the lining was plain and stained...

But I have to say I had always liked the outside of it ...So happy... and it reminded me of Sunshine...

So I decided that was a perfect bag to be UP-CYCLED ...

Since I was little my Mom has always been the "Queen" of recycling, up-cycling and making something old and not so pretty look brand new... I guess the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree and I'm happy to say this whole process made me feel closer to my Mom and so appreciative of all that she has thought me ...

I took the old out... and in with the new ..

new Lining ... New Handles ...

And VOILA ... I have a new bag...

So Happy and Cheerful ... just like I envisioned it ...

and now I am sooooo much more motivated to finish my (never ending) ripple blanket... (if I follow my plan - which I have to say I'm doing pretty good at the moment - it should be done in 2 weeks :))

Happiness and a great inspiration ... all in an Up-cycled bag :)

Hope you have fun plans for the Memorial Day weekend...I plan to rest, spend time with my family and get a little crochet/knitting done :)

Thanks so much to all my followers and to the new ones who have just joined me for your kind comments and for stopping by to see me today.
Have a great rest of the week :)

I hope it's sunny and bright on your side of the world :)

Making a Wine Cork Collage while Still Working on my Ripple Blanket

I hope you all had a WONDERFUL MOTHER'S DAY (if you were celebrating  it yesterday).
I had a wonderful day and feel so blessed for all that I have... and I'm not talking about all the "things" I have, but all the precious people I have been blessed with...

I'm grateful I have a wonderful Mother.. I am grateful I have a mother-in-law I can call Mother.. and I am so very grateful that  I have the privilege of being a mother to my two great children...  I feel so blessed...
No matter what happen in my life these precious gifts will always be mine.
...
I have been working on my Ripple blanket again... (Yes, the one that I feel I will never finish :)) and I made a decision last night...

If I make 2 rows (1 color ) every night I'll be done with the blanket in 23 weeks...so, if I stick to the plan my blanket will finally be done by June 4th...wow... I have a plan... and I think I can finish it if I see light in the end of the tunnel ... that is a good motivation for me...

So... last night I started on it again... and here is where I am ...

Bright and colorful...

While I have been working on my ripple blanket,
last week I had about 2 hours for myself and decided I was going to work on a project I have been thinking about doing for a long time...

I have been collecting wine corks for so many years I cannot even remember when we started...
I decided to put our most favorite ones and a few others together and make a collage...

I'm very happy that I was able to put all of them in one place and all the good memories and moments we had every time we opened one of these wine bottles...
how fun it is to have already collected so many great memories... with so many great friends...
Here it is what I got...

And here is the final result... I'm so Happy with it :)

Till next time .. Cheers !!!!

Thanks for stopping by to see me and WELCOME to all my new followers. I am so excited you have joined us.

If you have not done it yet...Don't forget to go check out my GIVEAWAY... only 2 more days left and I
l'll be drawing a name... you could be the LUCKY one !
Lots of Love:)

Colorful "Noro" Placemats

You already know ...I looooove color.

So, when my friend Shan gave me a GC to a knitting store near me -Little Lamb and Ewe (if you are from Oregon, or are ever here in Oregon, you should go check it out...they have a great selection of beautiful yarns and a beautiful store...I had to run there and get something new and of course, yet another project to go on my bag...

This time, however, I just couldn't wait till I finished a project to start it ,till I had the perfect pattern or till it was the perfect time to start... The perfect time was now... I could hardy wait till I drove home to start it ... and all the way home, while I was driving, I caught myself glimpsing at it every time I stopped in a red light...

Gorgeous, perfection, beauty... are the only words that comes to my mind when I think about this NORO Taiyo...a mix of cotton, wool and silk ...just pure bliss...

And I decided to make round, circular, simple placemats with it...

No specific pattern , just me, my creativity and my hands working to see what will come out of it... so happy, so pure, and free...

And don't forget about my GIVEAWAY ... go check it out on my previous post ...I'll be drawing a name on May 15th ... and you could be the lucky one !!! :)

I just love crocheting and just love that I can do this... be free to create ... and share it here with you... More to come in the next few days when I get one of them completed.

Happy to be here and even happier that you stopped by to visit me ...Have a lovely week...

Isn't it just GORGEOUS ??????

And don't forget about my GIVEAWAY on my previous post...I'll be drawing a name on MAY 15th ... and YOU could be the LUCKY one ... :)
