Cute Baby Hat and KnitNite

It seems like lately a lot of my friends are either having a baby or a grandbaby and what is a knit and crochet addict to do other than knit a hat...crochet a few headbands ...make a blanket...
So that is what I have been doing this days...headbands...hats ...and soon will start on a baby blanket as soon as they find out if they are having a boy or a girl...how fun will I have choosing yarn???

This week I was extremely busy at work so I didn't have too much time to play with yarn, but I managed to finish a cowl (which I forgot to take pictures... can you believe it?) for my daughter's best friend who is also like a daughter to me ...and to make this cute little baby hat.
I made it out of a mix of a few yarns I already had and Martha Stewart wool mix. I made up the pattern as I went so I don't have a specific pattern I followed...Just cuteness and I think it will look even cutter on the baby girl's head. :)...Just pure fun and joy.

I am also posting some pictures of our last KnitNite get together...all my friends having fun and sharing our craftiness and our makings ...
I feel so blessed for having so many great friends and to be able to share this great moments together.
Look at Teresa ( with her camera) Gracie and Betsy right there... We had a great time and enjoyed spending time together and sharing our project.

Well ... it's just gorgeous and sunny outside ...I have my ripple blanket right beside me ... and I can't wait to go back to work on it for a little while.

I hope is sunny and bright on your side of the world and I wish you a Bright and Perfect weekend.. Thanks for stopping to "see" me :)

Spring into Spring

Hi there Friends...

My little neighbor, who I have know since she was in her Mama's tummies, turned 7 this weekend and I thought what else to make a little girl happy other than a few cute little headbands...

I saw this headbands at Ana's blog www.lanasdeana.blogspot.com. I love them and
decided to make a few of them for my little friend. I like it so much I'm now making all kinds of variations and making a few more... I will show soon...

It's beautiful and sunny here this week so that inspire me to make all kinds of Springy things and to Spring right into Spring :) :) :)

Hope you have a wonderful, bright and beautiful week.

As always thank you for coming to visit me here and thank you to all my new followers for stoping by today ... Your comments make my day :)

Craftroom Pillow and Lunch with the Girls

Hi There Friends

I was very busy last week and weekend...

I am still trying to finish somethings so I can get my craft room done.
This weekend I am going to try to sew a cover for my sewing machine. I will show you later. But last week I worked really hard and finished a pillow... yes a cute little pillow to put on the window seat my husband built for me...
And I love how it turned out.

My inspiration was a pillow I saw at Annie's Place. I just loved it ... the simple lines and the elegance of it. So I decided to make a similar one and I really love the result...

I used a wool/angora yarn that my friend Natalie gave to me for my birthday and the grey is cascade 220.
I am happy with the result and the colors ended up just perfect for my sunny room :)

As soon as I finish my curtains I am going to try to paint the walls. That will take a lot of time and energy but I am determined. When it is all done than I'll show you in a big reveal. :)

In the middle of the week I had a wonderful lunch with TeresaBetsy and Gracie

We always have soooooo much fun together...

I'm so blessed I have met them. We are becoming such close and good friends and they each area treasure to me. I also feel so blessed for all of you who come here to see me and support me on this adventure I embraced almost a year ago...
Can you believe it has been almost 1 year since I started this blog...?
I thought about it for years... and I'm so glad I did.

Well friends I should go... I'm extremely tired and my family is ready to go to bed...

Before I go I just wanted to express my heartfelt sympathy for the families affected by yet another horrific act of violence... and my prayers to the ones who got hurt. I hope they can start to heal both their bodies and their hearts and know that we are all praying for them.

As always I hope you know that your visit makes a big difference to me and you touch my heart with your comments.

Pin Cushion for my craft room

Hi there friends,

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.
I had a somewhat quiet afternoon, after going with my friend Natalie to choose some yarn ( yummy :)) with her for a blanket she wants to crochet.

When I got home I sat on my couch watching a little bit of tv ( a horrible movie by the way... not my style at all)... But with all the anxiety of the movie I was able to start and finish a project I've been wanting to make for a long time.

I have been redoing my craft room for about a month now ... And at the rate I can do it, it will take me another month to finish it. My basic colors for the room are grey and yellow ( which is a color I love - it reminds me of the sun in Brazil). I have changed the furniture around...have changed a couple of pictures... And I have been making a few things for it...

Now I still need to paint the walls and paint a window seat my husband ... Wonderful husband :) built for me over spring break.

I have finished a pillow, but wasn't able to photograph it yet. I'll show it here soon. But this afternoon I finally made a pin cushion.

I have been wanting to make one for so long. I think I got motivated by the pin cushion Shari from Kashmerekisses.blogspot.com made yesterday. Her pincushion was so pretty ... it gave me the push I needed.

I made mine from a pattern for a blanket I saw on Cherryheart.blogspot.com. This is such a beautiful blanket and I have had it on my to do list for a while...so I decided to test and make one square and it ended up being just perfect for my pin cushion...

I'm quiet happy with the result. I'll probably try it again and will make a few more.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday and that you find something that makes you tremendously happy this weekend.

Lots of Love.

Magazine Article and a little Knitting

Hi there friends ,

I hope you had a wonderful Easter ( if you celebrate it) and that you had a great time with your families.

I don't know if I have ever mentioned to you before, but my dream is to write a crochet or knitting book someday...

I have started on it, but it's going slowly because I also have a full time job, I have 2 teenagers and I need to sleep ( once in a while ) ah, ah!
While I cannot have my book yet, I like to write a pattern, once in a while, and I have released some of them here for you to enjoy.

Today I am really excited and have some great news to share with you...

I have been featured at Inspired Crochet magazine.

My first article was released yesterday on their April issue and I'll have  2 more which will be on their next 2 issues.
This is a great digital magazine that features articles, interviews and many great patterns from online designers.

If you have a free minute go check it out at

I hope you enjoy it!

Before I go I also wanted to show you a project I just started...

I bought this yarn a couple of months ago with the idea of making something for Spring...

However, Spring is already here and I just now decided what to do with it...
This is a very fine, soft beautiful yarn... It's Swans Island - Natural Colors collection and it's a 50% fine merino wool, 50% tussah silk...
Just heavenly.
I found a pattern on Ravelry... FLORENCE by Karina Westermann
and it's perfect for this yarn. I had to modify a little and add a few extra stitches because the yarn and needles she used is bigger and my yarn is extremely thin. But it's turning out as a perfect Spring lacy scarf and I am so happy...just what I had imagined.

Now the only trick will be to stay focus and not do 10 other projects, at the same time, so I can finish it (even if it's on the last day of Spring :)).

I hope you are enjoying your week and as always thank you so much for stopping by to see me and for taking the time to make all the wonderful comments ...they make my day :)
Lots of love to you!
